I reserved my tickets for the exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry today. There are plenty of tickets but I needed to be sure my family and I would have them for the one weekend we're all able to get together this summer. Also, we didn't want a repeat of the King Tut experience where all the tickets were sold out on the day we went to the Field Museum and we got terrorized by hungry birds.
August is a long time to wait to see this but HP is a family thing and this was the only weekend we had free other than July 4 and there was no way we wanted to deal with the crowds that weekend.

You're lucky. I'm a poor college girl in California -- there's no way I'd be able to get there to see it unless I won the lottery.

It's going to other locales after Chicago. I don't know where it's going next but chances are that it'll move to a location closer to you within the next few years. They haven't announced upcoming cities but I cannot see them skipping the West Coast. Frankly, I'm surprised Chicago is getting this first. As far as publishing and the HP franchise is concerned, Chicago is generally passed over for New York or LA and the rest of the Midwest may as well not exist at all.

You think the midwest is ignored by publishing? At least Chicago gets a nod occasionally. Try living in the south!
