You're completely right about the Dementors, and make really good points about the aurors being a small forse and busy. I also like the point about the dementors knowing Sirius Black. (I hope I didn't sound too harsh about Dumbledore, but he did like to be running the show.) I don't have a problem with Hannah running the Leaky Cauldron. Space and distance mean nothing to Wizards who can Apparatt and Floo giving them the ability to be almost anywhere in the British Isles in minutes or seconds. Neville could Apparatt to the edge of Hogwarts, and have a pleasant walk into work every morning, or Floo into his office, or Floo into the Three Broomsticks or the Hogshead and walk into Hogwarts. I suppose if he's feeling nostalgic (and the room of requirement survived) he could Floo into the Hogsheade and take the portrait into Hogwarts. I think we look at their ability to travel the way that a 19th century person would look at our ability to get places quickly by car. when did she says that James patronus was a biting tea cup. If that's true that opens a whole line of items to choose from when deciding on a Patronus for a character. She said that really?

I don't know the exact interview, but I don't like the idea at all, considering every single one of the Patronuses we meet in canon - the books, the irrefutable canon - are all animals. That's a great rule to stick by, it's got a great symbolic relevance (the idea of totems or spirit guides in the form of animals), and it even seems like (for the most part) Patronuses are nonmagical creatures (Dumbledore's patronus aside - it may have been a Phoenix.)
Besides, out of all the items to be a person's Patronus, a biting teacup is the least noble and the silliest. I can see James joking/boasting that his is a biting teacup (or Sirius may have started the joke) but for an actual Patronus, something to defend you from the depths of despair and remind you of what is good and true in your life? Give me something alive and meaningful.
For this reason, I think JKR was being flippant when she said that. You can probably find the interview somewhere on Wikipedia.

It's possible JKR might change her mind to the Three Broomsticks - though since I think she choose the Leaky Cauldron as a shout-out to the website, I doubt it. That said, Hannah's a witch and Neville's a wizard. They can Floo to each other. The only problem would be deciding where to live since I can't see them living in the Leaky Cauldron forever - unless it's bigger than I thought.
As for James' Patronus, she was probably joking. I'm guessing this is an old interview and she may have not wanted to reveal it in case it came up later in the books.
I don't think they have to be nonmagical, just that there are more nonmagical creatures to choose from. Tonks' was a Werewolf and I could see Charlie having a dragon Patronus.

It definitely sounds to me like JKR was definitely kidding around about James's patronus.
I think another problem we get is being limited to what we see in canon. Things like Good Slytheirns, where people complain we only saw two or maybe three or four and should have seen more. We are limited to seven books, one character's POV so we don't see everything.
