What would Harry and Teddy's relationship have been like? I always saw it as a combination of big brother and uncle, but I've seen him written as father figure in fanfiction. I just can't see Harry feeling like a father to him... but I can see Harry immediately becoming something between an uncle and brother.

I agree. Since Harry never really knew his own father and didn't have a father figure in his life until Arthur Weasley when he was twelve (his first visit to the Burrow at the start of CofS), I can't see Harry taking on the role of father for Teddy.
But I can see him as an older brother or uncle. I do think he spent a lot of time with Teddy, and Teddy probably stayed at the Potters' home quite a lot over the years. He would have the advantage of a life-long relationship with Harry, unlike Harry who didn't know Arthur, Sirius or Lupin until he was nearly a teen.
Plus, I think the Weasleys would embrace Teddy and his grandmother into the family fold, so I think Teddy would grow up having many people around him who loved him - a very different childhood from Harry's.

Everyone seems to forget that Harry is still only seventeen years old when Teddy is born. How many boys are equipped to be fathers or father figures before they are eighteen? For most of Teddy's early life Harry is too young to take on a father figure role.
I can't see Andromeda seeing Harry as more than a nice boy. He would seem young and immature to her. Andromeda is Teddy's guardian. She decides who has a relationship with an infant or a toddler and the terms of that relationship. I can't see her seeing a seventeen or eighteen year old as a father figure. I think she would treat Harry as a family friend and uncle figure.
I find this fanfiction rush to pretend that Harry is really twenty three or something a little irritating. (The same thing applies to how Harry and Ginny's relationship is portrayed.)

I would say Harry's the fun uncle - he's a bit too mature to be an older brother, especially as he'd be a father by the time Teddy was six, but didn't JKR say that Teddy was always spending the night? That's closer than being a family friend.
Well. He is Teddy's godfather, so I don't think she'd be too strict with him in defining the relationship.

Oh I agree with what you say. I didn't mean to sound to harsh. I just was reacting to the idea of Harry acting as a father when he was still a teenager. I do think the fun uncle and in time a father figure makes sense. Harry is the god father -- I agree Andromeda would be happy to encourage a relationship, but I she would still be the person in charge. I'm not sure how formal a godfather relationship would be or if it was recongized in a legal way. My point would be that Harry had the relationship that Andromeda chose to give to him. She would have every reason to want to encourage a close one and I believe she would. I just think she would be the person in charge.
It's true as Harry aged he would be able to take on more of a fatherly role, including have Teddy spend the night. I just don't see a 17 or 18 year old Harry keeping a newborn or even later a two year old for the weekend. Would he even want to?
