Maybe more? (I'm in an icon mood today.) I love Neville and I'm more interested in him than any other character, but how could he be more important than Harry? (That would be a fun argument to read.)

some ways he shows as much leadership as Harry because when he's made up his mind he does have a take charge attitude, as we saw in the seventh book. IMO he is a late bloomer, and maybe that way he was able to develop his leadership skills. I wouldn't say Harry wasn't a leader, he was.
Portraying Snape as a byronic hero and sexy Snape! Snape wasn't evil, and he was bitter and real mixed bag of tricks. Portraying him as some brooding byronic hero?! Ugh, what is he Heatchliff of Hogwarts>! GMAB!! and SEXY?! Yeuch!! Wasn't Sirius the sexy one. And the infatuation with Malfoy bugs me because Malfoy is a bully, and a brat for most of the series. He's not a bad boy with a heart of gold!!!
Oh and this demeaning female characters in fanfic? Please, JKR gives us lots of strong female characters, even Molly, who is a homemaker is portrayed as strong, and capable! UGH!!!
Something I've seen, people saying Ron isn't good enough for Hermione, or that she deserves better. I hate that! That's not only unfair, it's insulting. Ron was NOT stupid! He was a different kind of smart than Hermione. It is especially irksome as this is a main line used to prop Dramione. Gag.
